For decades Linda Seiler felt like a man trapped in a female body and was exclusively attracted to women. Today she is content in a female body, wholly attracted to men, and travels the country equipping the Church to respond to LGBTQ with truth and compassion.
A lifelong struggle
From her earliest memory, Linda wanted to be a boy instead of a girl. In her own words, "From my earliest memory I wanted to be a boy instead of a girl." Through adolescence she experienced same-sex attraction, and over the years that followed she struggled with sexual addictions that spanned decades. By her twenties she had made plans for sex reassignment surgery, expecting to live the rest of her life as a man named David.
A turning point
Linda's turning point came during her college years, when a campus pastor pointed her to James 5:16: "Confess your sins one to another and pray for each other so that you may be healed." That verse began an eleven-year journey of healing through honest confession, counseling, and prayer, as she brought what she had long hidden into the light.
Meeting the Father
A pivotal moment came in 2005 through an inner-healing prayer ministry, where Linda began to address deep childhood wounds. There she encountered what she describes as "a tender, compassionate side to the Father," and found the comfort she had spent years seeking elsewhere. In the time that followed, she experienced a newfound contentment in being a woman, freedom from sexual addictions, and eventually attraction to men.
From her story to her calling
Linda waited eight years before sharing her testimony publicly for the first time in 2013. An ordained Assemblies of God minister, she led Chi Alpha at Purdue University from 2007 to 2020 and now serves as National XA Field Specialist in Applied Theology and Culture. In 2020 she earned her PhD from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary, writing her dissertation on thirty case studies of individuals with same-sex attraction who experienced transformation. She is the author of TRANS-Formation: A Former Transgender Responds to LGBTQ, which draws on both her research and her own journey.
